Students currently studying Japanese at an educational insutitution

in Ontario from Grade 1 to 12.

Ａ．HIRAGANA ART　　Ｂ．KANJI ART

A maximum of two submissions per student.

(One category can be submitted one entry only.)

The submissions have to be sent as a school unit.

A teacher must subscribe to Nihongo Art Newsletter.

Submissions will not be returned.

Winning entries will be used for travelling exhibitions.

In addition, NACOC will have the right to edit, publish, promote and

otherwise use all sumbissions without notice or compensation, in any

and or all media now known or hereafter developed.

All entries have to attach ENTRY FORM.

1.Use a letter size paper or smaller. (maximum size 8.5”×11”)

2.Artwork to be submitted in a plastic clear holder.

3.No 3-D artwork will be accepted.

4.Unique modifications are welcome but must maintain the basic figures of

Hiragana and Kanji.

5.Regarding Hiragana words, broken or incorrect spelling will not be eligible.

(e.g. to express こども, only こどis used.)

6.Regarding Kanji, only use symbols that express a concept.

7.Regarding Hiragana, Hiragana unrelated to the word cannot be added.

8.The design must be related to the core meaning of the chosen/related

Hiragana work or Kanji.

9.Themes not accepted include violence, drugs, nudity or anything that

could be considered vulgar or disreputable.

10.Colour illustrations are encouraged.

Computer graphics are also welcome.

11.The artwork must be original.

12.Do not write any personal infomation, name, grade, etc, on the top page

to avoid giving second thought to the judges.

Please avoid using other copyrighted materials.

The right to use such materials is protected by law.
